Job summary

CAIRO seeks an Assistant Teacher to join a collaborative team supporting daily classroom operations and curriculum delivery at CAIRO Academy sites across Portland, Oregon. You will apply child development knowledge to foster a safe, engaging learning environment and maintain strong communication with children and families.

You will assist the Lead Teacher with family engagement and may temporarily assume Lead Teacher responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Minimum ORO Step 6.
• At least 1 year of verified experience with children ages 3–5 in a certified childcare center.
• Experience supporting children with varying needs in inclusive settings.
• Must meet one of the following: 750 hours of teaching in a certified center; 1,500 hours in family childcare; ORO Step 6 or CKCs waivers; associate degree in related field; CDA or higher credential.
