Job summary

Community of Hope is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant Floater to join our team in Washington, DC. This on-site role involves floating between two locations and supporting providers with exams and procedures.

You will take histories and vital signs, prepare rooms, perform EKGs and vaccines, and assist with minor procedures, while providing patient-centered care in a nonprofit setting. Competitive pay and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Completed Medical Assistant Diploma from an approved nationally accredited program.
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) license from an approved association (AAMA or NHA).
• Valid BLS Certificate.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a non-profit environment.
• Participation in continuing medical education.
• Proof of vaccinations; accommodations available if needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for exam by taking history and vital signs.
• Supplies provider with forms and information for visits.
• Prepares exam rooms and cleans after patient encounters.
• Provides nursing care including EKGs, wound care, minor procedures, and nebulizer treatments.
• Autoclaves instruments and maintains sterile fields.
• Observes and reports patient conditions to physicians.
• Performs vaccine and medication administration as ordered.
• Responds to patient messages and prescription refills.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
