Job summary

Community of Hope seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant Floater to join our DC-area clinics, floating between sites to keep patient care seamless. You will take patient histories and vital signs, assist providers, and perform routine clinical tasks including EKGs, wound care, nebulizer treatments, and vaccinations.

Requirements include a Medical Assistant Diploma, CCMA or equivalent certification, valid BLS, and a commitment to serving underserved communities.

Qualifications

• Completed Medical Assistant Diploma from an approved nationally accredited program.
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) license required or MA certification with experience.
• Valid BLS certificate.
• High school diploma or equivalent; non-profit environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exam by taking history and vital signs.
• Provide forms and information to provider to complete visits.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms; assist with procedures and EKGs.
• Provide nursing care including wound dressing and nebulizer treatments.
• Administer vaccines and medications as ordered.
• Respond to patient messages and prescription refill requests.
• Float between two Community of Hope locations as needed.
