MedStar Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform clinical and administrative duties in an ambulatory care setting under supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with examinations, performing patient screening and basic tests, and ensuring accurate documentation in the EMR.

The role may float to other sites within the MedStar Health system and requires adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Less than 1 year experience in ambulatory care preferred; externships may substitute for experience.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification within 12 months of hire preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist providers with patient examinations and preparation; support clinic operations.
• Conduct patient screening, basic tests, and specimen collection where applicable.
• Document patient information and procedures in the EMR accurately.
• Float to multiple sites within the system as needed.
• Maintain infection control practices and support safety standards.
