Job summary

Jones Street is seeking a Floating Maintenance Technician to support multiple apartment communities across Fairfield County. The role requires performing general maintenance, responding to service requests, and assisting with unit turns across several properties, with travel between sites five days a week.

The candidate should have a high school diploma and at least three years of apartment maintenance experience, with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years apartment maintenance experience preferred.
• EPA Universal Certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel between Fairfield and Westport CT properties 5 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Travel between assigned properties (Alto, Fairfield and Greens Farms, Westport) 5 days a week, Monday through Friday.
• Adapt to varying site needs and respond to service requests promptly.
• Perform general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall, and appliance repair.
• Assist with apartment unit turns and make-ready inspections.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize future repairs.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance issues efficiently.
• Ensure safety standards, building codes, and policies are followed.
• Maintain records of work performed and materials used.
• Communicate with property managers, residents, and vendors.
• Provide on-call or after-hours emergency maintenance support as required.
