Job summary

Prospera Community Housing is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to perform a broad range of maintenance tasks across multiple properties, ensuring safe, compliant, and well-kept homes for residents. You will troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, carpentry, windows, and flooring, complete unit make-readies, maintain accurate records, and coordinate with contractors as needed.

This role reports to the Regional Maintenance Manager and participates in after-hours on-call

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Government Inspections and requirements, such as HUD/TDHCA.
• Able to independently use computers/phones to document tasks.
• Strong ability to follow written and verbal instructions; complete tasks on time.
• Exhibits time management and prioritization for maintenance tasks.
• Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance tasks.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate maintenance tasks, including basic electrical and plumbing repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems with limited supervision.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
• Assist in training and mentoring Maintenance Technician I staff.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
• Complete unit make-readies for leasing; inspect, document, paint, and deep clean.
