Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems seeks an Ambulatory Divisional Registered Nurse to provide, develop, coordinate, and manage clinical duties across the ambulatory service line. The role supports clinical care across multiple outpatient locations in partnership with division leadership.

The nurse will manage outpatient care, perform chart reviews, triage calls, educate patients, and collaborate with care teams to ensure timely, safe ambulatory services.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
• Preferred: Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Current Registered Nurse license and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Follows physician orders within Nurse Practice Act and approved guidelines.
• Triages patient calls and messages per ambulatory standards.
• Provides education to patients on division topics and care plans.
• Partner with care team to prepare for return visits and review records.
• Coordinate chart preparation and referrals to ensure correct clinic assignment.
• Support clinic testing, treatments, and pre/post-operative care as directed.
