Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems seeks an Ambulatory Divisional Registered Nurse to support outpatient cancer services across multiple clinics. The position requires a nursing degree, an active RN license, and 3 years’ nursing experience with 1–2 years in pediatric or adult divisions.

Qualifications

• Required Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Licensing: Current Registered Nurse license, BLS Certification.
• Minimum Qualifications: at least 3 years of nursing experience; 1–2 years in pediatric or adult division.

Responsibilities

• Follows physician orders within the Nurse Practice Act and established standards.
• Triages patient calls and in-basket messages per ambulatory and division standards.
• Prepares chart for return visits and reviews records prior to patient visits.
• Completes new patient referrals and ensures outside records are available.
• Provides disease- and procedure-specific education to patients in clinic.
• Collaborates with care teams to ensure continuity of care across clinic sites.
