Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health is hiring an Ambulatory Divisional Registered Nurse to support outpatient care across multiple sites. You will follow physician orders, coordinate care with the division, and assist with patient education and pre/postoperative processes.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, current RN licensure, BLS, and 3+ years of nursing experience, with preferred pediatric or adult division experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Current RN license and BLS certification required.
• 3+ years of nursing experience; ambulatory division preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows physician orders within Nurse Practice Act and guidelines.
• Triages patient calls and handles in-basket messages per ambulatory standards.
• Prepares charts for return visits and reviews labs/imaging before visits.
• Provides disease- and procedure-specific education to patients.
• Assists providers during clinical procedures and coordinates referrals.
• Travel between clinic sites to support multiple outpatient locations.
• Collaborates with leadership and care teams to ensure safe, timely ambulatory care.
