Job summary

Tokyo Electron America, Inc. invites a Summer 2027 Research Scientist Intern to join the Surface Preparation System Advanced Technology Group in Austin, TX.

The role develops multiscale models linking wafer-scale transport to nanoscale etching dynamics and validates simulations with experimental data. You will build physics-based transport and reaction models for wet processing, develop frameworks, and collaborate with TEL sites, customers and partners.

Qualifications

• Strong background in transport phenomena including fluid dynamics and diffusion.
• Experience with multiscale modeling concepts and reduced-order methods.
• Familiarity with wet processing physics and semiconductor contexts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop physics-based models for transport and reaction phenomena in wet processing.
• Build multiscale simulation frameworks linking wafer-scale flow to nanoscale etching dynamics.
• Analyze simulation and experimental data to validate model predictions across parameters.
• Collaborate with TEL sites, manufacturing divisions, and academic partners.
