Job summary

You will write weather stories, respond to breaking weather, coordinate with the weather team, and participate in promotional appearances while delivering timely forecasts to viewers. A degree in meteorology and 5+ years' experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology or related field.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in weather reporting or anchoring.
  • Strong on-air presence.
  • Experience guiding, directing and motivating others.
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Flexibility to work any shift.

Responsibilities

  • Produces and presents weather reports for all platforms.
  • Writes and delivers weather stories in a clear and concise manner.
  • Responds to breaking and/or severe weather events and other urgent newsroom situations.
  • Cooperates with the weather team to develop comprehensive weather coverage.
  • Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology
