Job summary

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. seeks an experienced Meteorologist to forecast weather conditions, produce and anchor weather reports across platforms. You will write weather stories and contribute to weather programming while maintaining high journalistic standards.

You will respond to severe weather events, collaborate with the weather team, and participate in promotional activities. A strong on-air presence and mentoring abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Excellent communication skills, oral and written, with ability to ad lib when required.
• Minimum five years’ experience in weather reporting or anchoring (varies by market).
• Superior on-air presence and professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Produce and present weather reports for all platforms.
• Ensure weather content meets journalistic standards of integrity and quality.
• Write and deliver clear weather stories; assist in research and coordination of weather programming.
• Respond to breaking or severe weather events as required.
