Job summary

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Meteorologist to forecast weather, produce, and anchor reports across all platforms.

You will deliver clear, engaging weather content for news consumers and collaborate with the weather team to build comprehensive coverage. The role requires a Bachelor's in Meteorology, at least five years on-air weather experience, strong communication, and the ability to respond to severe weather events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Five years’ experience in weather reporting or anchoring.
• Superior on-air presence.
• Experience guiding, directing and motivating others.
• Coaching and mentoring others to improve skills.
• Proficiency with office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Produces and presents weather reports for all platforms.
• Writes and delivers weather stories clearly and concisely.
• Assists in writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating weather programming.
• Responds to breaking weather events and urgent newsroom situations.
• Develops comprehensive weather coverage with the weather team.
• Participates in promotional activities and public appearances.
• Writes web weather stories daily.
• Interacts with viewers on social media.
