NBC Bay Area is looking for an experienced, versatile journalist who can report and tell compelling stories across television, streaming, digital and social platforms. The role requires a proven track record in both broadcast reporting and digital storytelling and comfort reporting live from the scene.

Qualifications

• Portfolio or reel showing broadcast and digital/social journalism.
• Several years of professional journalism experience, with a track record in broadcast and digital.
• Strong on-camera reporting and presentation skills.
• Ability to independently report, shoot, write, edit, produce and present a TV news story.
• Strong knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube best practices.
• Excellent writing for broadcast, digital and social audiences.
• Experience shooting/editing on mobile devices and with editing tools.
• Ability to work quickly under tight deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Report, shoot, write and edit general assignment, enterprise and breaking news stories for NBC Bay Area newscasts.
• Report and produce original journalism for NBC Bay Area's digital, streaming and social platforms.
• Develop, produce, shoot, edit and front social-first news briefs and short-form content for social platforms.
• Provide fast social-first coverage of breaking news and local events.
• Develop social explainer content that breaks down complex stories for audiences.
• Publish content directly to NBC Bay Area's social platforms with platform-specific formatting.
• Serve as a digital correspondent within newscasts with insights on online conversations.
• Collaborate with reporters, anchors, producers, photographers, editors and digital teams, while also able to lead a story end-to-end.
• Maintain journalistic standards across platforms, even in fast-moving situations.
• Experiment with new storytelling formats and platform features.
