Job summary

Atomic Machines is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join the AI and Modeling & Simulation team in Emeryville/Santa Clara, CA. You will build and deploy multiphysics models to support machine design and optimization, focusing on structural mechanics and thermal effects across coupled domains.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in multiphysics modeling, strong Python skills, and experience with COMSOL/Ansys.

Qualifications

4+ years in multiphysics modeling and simulation.
Strong foundation in structural mechanics and thermoelasticity.
Python programming and automating simulation workflows.
Experience with COMSOL and Ansys; familiarity with Abaqus/Siemens tools is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work independently and with teams.

Responsibilities

Identify critical system attributes and develop computational models for current and future machines.
Define figures of merit, boundary, and operating conditions from system requirements.
Build and deploy multiphysics simulations (thermal and mechanical) using FEM.
Deliver executable models that support sensitivity analysis and optimization.
Propose validation experiments and calibrate models with results.
Document methods, assumptions, and validation results; communicate findings clearly.
Collaborate with prototype engineers, designers, and AI engineers.
