Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc. (AMA) is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Engineer to support advanced modeling tools at the Denver, CO or Huntsville, AL location.

The role blends software engineering, physics-based problem solving, and V&V to ensure accurate, reliable, and usable codes for aerospace analyses. The candidate will work on multidisciplinary analyses for space nuclear designs (FSP, NTP, NEP) in collaboration with NASA’s ANTO/SRD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or software field.
• Strong C++ and Python programming skills with engineering software development.
• Experience with software verification and validation, including automated tests.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and software release processes.
• Ability to model multidisciplinary physics-based systems in code.

Responsibilities

• Lead adoption of software engineering best practices across projects.
• Establish coding standards, style guides, and workflows.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers on quality and design patterns.
• Champion testing, documentation, and technical debt management.
• Serve as primary software architect for in-house tools.
• Develop interfaces for multiphysics simulations and V&V plans.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, tests, and data.
