Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc. (AMA) seeks a Modeling and Simulation Engineer for Denver, CO or Huntsville, AL. The role supports advanced modeling and V&V for space nuclear designs with hybrid work options.

You will lead software engineering best practices, establish coding standards, and mentor engineers. A Bachelor’s in a related field and strong C++, Python, and Git experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Strong proficiency in C++, Python and engineering software development.
• Experience with software verification and validation, including automated testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and software release processes.
• Ability to understand multidisciplinary models in code and HPC environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the adoption and implementation of software engineering best practices across AMA projects.
• Establish and maintain coding standards, style guides, and development workflows.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers on software quality and design patterns.
• Develop interfaces and workflows for multiphysics simulations (MOOSE-based).
• Create and execute verification and validation plans including unit tests and benchmarks.
• Prepare codes for formal release and act as primary release manager.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and testing.
