Job summary

Toole Design is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer in Gaithersburg, MD to join our on-site staff augmentation program. You’ll deliver multimodal transportation projects, from urban roadway reconstructions to trails, with site visits as required.

The role requires 6+ years of experience, a PE is preferred, and proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Synchro and traffic analysis tools. We offer a collaborative culture and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Six+ years of experience in transportation engineering.
• P.E. license preferred or obtainable within a reasonable timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Support client in day-to-day activities, including traffic studies and determinations of the need to install traffic control devices.
• Contribute to the design of transportation infrastructure projects.
• Develop signing and pavement marking plans, maintenance of traffic plans, and traffic signal plans.
• Use Synchro, Highway Capacity Software, MicroStation, and AutoCAD for production work.
• Contribute to studies such as road diet feasibility, roundabouts, trail/roadway intersections, and parking.
• Develop feasibility studies, concept plans, and construction documents.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to deliver high-quality multimodal transportation outcomes.
• Mentor junior staff and support a culture of technical excellence.
