Job summary

Bowman Consulting is seeking a Transportation Engineer II to join our Philadelphia team. The role focuses on executing complex transportation engineering tasks, developing sustainable solutions to reduce congestion and improve multimodal mobility.

You will work with senior staff, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to project delivery, reporting, and client communications. A PE license or progress toward licensure is preferred, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and quality work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Three or more years of professional engineering experience with an emphasis on transportation engineering.
• FE/Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred; PE registration within six months preferred.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD; familiarity with DOT permitting and construction standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation to/from site.
• Knowledge of ADA Standards and Guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction and mentor junior staff.
• Assist with marketing the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients.
• Prepare transportation engineering plans, reports, and graphics.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and manage project tasks to meet schedule and budget.
• Present technical information to clients and stakeholders.
