Job summary

insitro is seeking a Computational Biologist to advance target prioritization and drug discovery using multimodal cellular data. You will work with life scientists, data scientists, bioengineers, software engineers, and ML scientists to identify therapeutic targets and develop drugs with high efficacy and low toxicity.

This role is based in South San Francisco with a hybrid in-person schedule. You have a PhD and 3+ years post-grad experience in computational biology or related field, with

Qualifications

  • PhD in computational biology, systems biology, bioengineering, CS, ML or related discipline with 3+ years post-graduation
  • Hands-on experience with diverse data modalities (single-cell RNA-seq, microscopy, spatial proteomics, etc.)
  • Strong background in statistical modeling and data analysis
  • Understanding of molecular or disease biology (neuroscience, cardiovascular, metabolic)
  • Proficient in Python with NumPy/pandas
  • Publications in computational biology or related fields

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize multimodal insights from diverse data to generate therapeutic hypotheses
  • Identify potential therapeutic targets from perturbation screens
  • Discover and validate disease biomarkers for monitoring progression
  • Partner with experimental biologists to design and troubleshoot experiments
  • Provide statistical and computational guidance for assay development
  • Calibrate analysis tools, define metrics, and benchmark workflows
  • Communicate findings to cross-functional teams through reports and presentations
