Job summary

Oakland University Video Support Technician role involves creating high-quality video and audio content for the Creative Media Team and campus events. Responsibilities include filming, editing, podcast production, sound design, and supporting event productions.

The position collaborates with senior staff and account managers to deliver brand-aligned multimedia content and maintain studio facilities and equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Two years of technical video and audio production experience with analog and digital formats.
• Emphasis on cinematic videography, motion graphics, and audio production.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Premier), DaVinci, Avid Pro Tools.
• Experience with Gimbal operation, drone operation, closed captioning, and video switcher.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; able to take and give feedback on creative work.
• Able to communicate and work effectively with others.
• Must be able to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in confined spaces.
• Able to flex working schedule to cover weekend events or non-traditional hours.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Film and edit high-quality video and audio content for campus initiatives.
• Produce podcasts and sound design for events.
• Support multimedia production across campus events.
• Collaborate with senior video staff, creative teams, and account managers.
• Operate the campus podcast studio and maintain studio spaces and equipment.
