Job summary

The City of Everett is seeking a skilled Multimedia Communications & Events Specialist to tell the city’s stories through photography, video, and digital media while planning and executing community events.

You will report to the Director of Communications, collaborating with departments, vendors, and residents to produce engaging content and support public outreach across social media and the city website.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Event Management, Graphic Design, Media Production, or related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Municipal or government communications experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging multimedia content promoting City programs, services, initiatives, and community events.
• Capture, edit, and produce photography, video, and graphics for social media, the City website, newsletters, ECTV, and other platforms.
• Write press releases, news stories, social media content, newsletters, and other public information materials.
• Maintain and update website content to ensure information is accurate, timely, and accessible.
• Assist in managing the City’s social media platforms by creating content, monitoring engagement, and responding to inquiries when appropriate.
• Track digital engagement metrics and recommend improvements to communications strategies.
