Glen Raven's marketing creative team is recruiting for a Contract Multimedia Designer. The Multimedia Designer plays a key role in bringing the Sunbrella brand to life through video, motion, and visual storytelling. This role is primarily responsible for editing and producing compelling content for marketing campaigns, product launches, brand storytelling, and digital channels while maintaining Sunbrella's elevated visual standards. We are seeking a conceptually strong editor and visual storyteller who can transform footage, photography, graphics, sound, and motion into distinctive brand experiences. The ideal candidate combines creative thinking with strong editing, pacing, motion, typography, and platform-specific storytelling skills to create work that is both culturally relevant and uniquely Sunbrella. Working closely with the Creative Director, Art Director, designers, copywriters, and marketing partners, this individual will develop impactful assets across digital, social, and print channels that support Sunbrella's brand vision, marketing strategy, and business objectives. While video editing and content creation are the primary focus of the role, the Multimedia Designer will also contribute to graphic design and broader multimedia initiatives.

*** This is a contract 1099 role, roughly 20-25 hours per week ***

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for interpreting creative briefs, determining design requirements, and fostering alignment with Creative Director, Art Director and Marketing Manager.
  • Translate campaign concepts, product stories, and raw footage into distinctive video ideas that capture attention within the opening seconds.
  • Build polished edits using footage, photography, animation, typography, music, sound design, and visual effects to create a cohesive and ownable Sunbrella point of view.
  • Identify opportunities to transform existing campaign footage, photography, and archival assets into fresh, channel-specific stories rather than simple resized or shortened versions of existing content.
  • Edit a range of video formats, including social series, product stories, designer and maker features, interviews, behind-the-scenes content, event recaps, and paid-social creative.
  • Partner with design, copy, brand, social, and marketing teams from concept through delivery, helping shape ideas with social storytelling and editability in mind.
  • Prepare and deliver platform ready files across required formats, ensuring accuracy in aspect ratio, duration, resolution, captions, audio, color, and file specifications.
  • Contribute to graphic design, photography editing, retouching, campaign development, and other multimedia needs when required.
  • Maintain brand consistency and creative integrity while continuing to experiment, test, learn, and introduce new approaches to Sunbrella storytelling.
  • Disciplined in interpreting and exercising creative integrity from established brand books and guidelines.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (BFA in photography, new media or other visual arts) is preferred.
  • 5–10 years of professional experience in video editing, motion design, social content creation, or multimedia production, ideally within a brand, agency, editorial, or content studio environment.
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality visual content tailored for various digital platforms.
  • Experience developing content specifically for organic and paid social rather than only adapting traditional campaign or long‑form video.
  • Ability to find a compelling story within a range of source material, including polished campaign footage, interviews, behind‑the‑scenes footage, still photography, archival assets, and user generated content.
  • Strong creative portfolio showcasing expertise across graphic design, video, and multimedia storytelling.
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Illustrator.
  • Demonstrated strength in short‑form editing, visual pacing, story structure, sound design, music editing, color correction, typography, motion graphics, and finishing.
  • Strong editorial judgment and the ability to identify the strongest hook, sequence, visual device, and format for a given audience and channel.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to test, learn, and innovate new approaches to content creation.
  • Experience creating multiple creative variations efficiently while protecting brand consistency and production quality.
