Job summary

U.S. Global Leadership Coalition is seeking a Communications Assistant to support a fast-paced team in designing, executing, and tracking a range of communication products. The role involves social media, photography, video, and event materials, plus AV production and vendor coordination for events.

This hybrid Washington, DC-based position reports to the Deputy Communications Director. The ideal candidate brings up to 2 years in media/communications, strong writing/speaking skills, Canva and

Qualifications

• Up to 2 years of media and communications experience in related environments.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfort with multiple social platforms including LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook.
• Proficiency with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite; video editing preferred.
• Comfort with audio/visual equipment and event production tech.
• Strong attention to detail and deadlines.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Creativity and innovation in messaging and content.
• Passion for U.S. foreign policy.

Responsibilities

• Social Media and Digital Support – Draft, create, schedule engaging content; monitor channels; assist campaigns.
• Photo, Video, and Multimedia Production – Capture assets; coordinate with vendors; edit short-form video; manage assets.
• Content Development and Design – Design and edit reports, presentations, one-pagers, op-eds, and event materials.
• News and Communications Support – Monitor news; compile daily clips; identify timely content opportunities.
• Communications Team Support – Collaborate on fast-moving projects and events with strong organization and creativity.
