Angus Productions, Inc. in Saint Joseph, MO, seeks an experienced Assistant Editor/Associate Editor to write, edit and organize interviews, photography and videography for the Angus Journal and AJ Daily across print and digital platforms.

You will manage regular columns, collaborate with editors on editorial planning, and help produce the Angus Journal from concept to production with travel up to 20%. In-office candidates are preferred, but remote candidates with strong industry background will

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in ag journalism, ag communications, technical writing or related field.
• 2–4 years of practical experience in a media environment preferred.
• Livestock or animal science background or experience.

Responsibilities

• Write feature and news stories for Angus Journal and AJ Daily across print and digital.
• GATHER interviews, photography, and videography for multi-media content.
• Manage regular columns: inputting information, summaries, meeting deadlines, formatting copy, production.
• Collaborate with editor on editorial planning.
• Assist in producing the Angus Journal: fact checking, proofreading, layouts.
• Plan graphics with editor and graphic artist; coordinate social media strategy.
• Travel up to 20% to attend events and conduct on-site reporting.
