Job summary

ReNEW Schools seeks a Translator/Interpreter to support ESOL initiatives across districts. The role includes translating and interpreting between English and multiple target languages (Spanish, Arabic, Swahili, Nepali, Dari, Somali) for district documents, meetings, and family outreach.

Ideal candidates have native or near-native language skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with MS Word; three years of translator/interpreter experience is preferred; qualifications include 60 college

Qualifications

• Native or near-native proficiency in the target language, both oral and written.
• Detail-oriented with ability to multitask.
• Proficient with MS Word and able to type at least 40 wpm.
• Three years of Translator/Interpreter experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translate district documents from English to the target language.
• Edit district documents translated from English to the target language.
• Interpret during meetings including parent-teacher conferences and ESOL office meetings.
• Assist new ELL families with enrollment documents.
• Conduct ESOL welcome sessions in the target language.
• Record automated messages in the target language for district information.
