Job summary

ReNEW Schools is seeking a Translator/Interpreter to provide translation and interpretation services for ESOL programs in St. Louis, MO.

The role supports ELL families, staff, and enrollment activities across multiple target languages including Spanish, Arabic, Swahili, Nepali, Dari, and Somali. The position requires native-like proficiency, strong attention to detail, and experience in education settings, with potential 11-month payroll/Personnel terms.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native proficiency in the target language.
• Ability to multitask and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Computer literate; proficient with MS Word and able to type 40 wpm.
• Three years of experience as a Translator/Interpreter preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translate district documents from English to the target language.
• Edit translations for accuracy and tone.
• Interpret during meetings including parent-teacher conferences and ESOL sessions.
• Assist new ELL families with enrollment documents.
• Conduct ESOL welcome sessions in the target language.
