• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year interpreting experience, including 6 months in medical interpreting.
• Completion of a 40-hour Medical Interpreter Training Program required; NBCMI/CCHI accepted.
• Passing the Interpreter Skills Test (IST) per Northside Hospital criteria.

Responsibilities

• Provide consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation for LEP patients and families.
• Sight-translation of materials to support understanding of procedures and instructions.
• Translate hospital documents from English to the target language as assigned.
