Job summary

SOSi is seeking Arabic, Bengali and Chinese Cantonese linguists to support government and defense language services in Reston, VA. Duties include monitoring, translating, transcribing, and summarizing intercepts with strict accuracy under supervisor guidance.

Applicants must obtain/maintain a Secret level security clearance and possess a Bachelor's degree. Work involves a range of language tasks and adherence to court/minimization procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required and language assessment completion.
• Excellent command of English and accurate translation ability.
• Ability to work under deadlines and pressure.
• Typing speed of at least 40 wpm.
• Ability to understand slang and translate to English.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and translate/interprete intercepts; provide summaries in English.
• Operate recording/playback equipment and digitize translations.
• Prepare gists, summaries, and transcripts with accuracy.
• Sign and initial documents per procedures.
• Administrative duties: organize logs and binders.
