Job summary

Avon Community School Corporation seeks a Student Support/Instructional Assistant to work with multilingual learners under ML and classroom teachers at Sycamore Elementary. This part-time role emphasizes language development in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

The position runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm for 181 school-year days, with hourly pay starting at $18.50. A high school diploma or GED is required, and ML experience is ideal.

• ML experience ideal.

Responsibilities

• Provide supplemental instructional support to multilingual learners under the direction of the ML and classroom teachers in the areas of speaking, listening, reading, and writing to improve language acquisition.
• Supervises ML students and assists them with self-help and behavioral management skills.
• Assists the ML and classroom teachers with lesson material preparation.
• Communicates effectively with teachers and other staff.
• Attends meetings, workshops, and training sessions as directed.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
