Job summary

KIPP North Carolina is seeking a Multilingual Learner (ML) Teacher to deliver high-quality English language development instruction and empower multilingual learners to access rigorous grade-level content. You will work with classroom teachers, families, and regional staff to support language development and academic success.

The role emphasizes collaborative planning, data-driven differentiation, and implementing research-based language supports across speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid North Carolina teaching license or eligibility for North Carolina licensure.
• Strong instructional, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to support students from diverse academic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct English language development instruction to multilingual learners through push-in, pull-out, small-group, and/or co-teaching models.
• Plan and deliver instruction aligned to the North Carolina English Language Development Standards and grade-level standards.
• Differentiate instruction using students' English proficiency and data; monitor progress.
• Support students in developing academic language across speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to provide scaffolds within grade-level instruction.
• Support implementation of language objectives, vocabulary development, and sentence frames.
• Administer or support required English language proficiency screening and annual assessments.
• Maintain ML student records, service documentation, and progress-monitoring data.
• Communicate with families in a culturally responsive manner.
• Participate in professional development and ML program implementation.
