Job summary

KIPP North Carolina seeks a student-centered Multilingual Learner (ML) Teacher to provide high-quality English language development instruction and support multilingual learners in accessing rigorous grade-level content.

The ML Teacher collaborates with classroom teachers, school leaders, families, and regional Student Support staff to promote students' English language development and academic success, using data to differentiate instruction and monitor progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid North Carolina teaching license or eligibility for North Carolina licensure.
• Strong instructional, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to support students from diverse academic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct English language development instruction to multilingual learners.
• Differentiate instruction using proficiency data and progress monitoring.
• Collaborate with teachers, leaders, and families to support ML students.
• Administer or support language proficiency screenings and assessments.
• Maintain ML student records and progress data.
• Support language objectives, vocabulary development, and academic language.
• Participate in ML program implementation and professional development.
