Job summary

KIPP North Carolina Career Board seeks a Multilingual Learner (ML) Teacher to deliver high-quality English language development instruction and support multilingual learners in accessing rigorous grade-level content. You will collaborate with classroom teachers, school leaders, families, and regional Student Support staff to foster language growth and academic success.

The role emphasizes differentiated instruction, data-driven planning, and strong communication with families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid North Carolina teaching license or eligibility for North Carolina licensure.
• Strong instructional, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to support students from diverse academic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds.
• Experience with ESL/ELD instruction is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct English language development instruction to multilingual learners.
• Plan and deliver instruction aligned to NC ELD Standards and grade-level standards.
• Differentiate instruction using proficiency data.
• Support students in developing academic language across speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to provide scaffolds within instruction.
• Support implementation of language objectives, vocabulary development, and sentence frames.
• Administer or support required English language proficiency screening and assessments.
• Maintain ML student records and progress-monitoring data.
• Communicate with families in a culturally responsive manner.
• Participate in professional development and ML program implementation.
