A leading educational institution is seeking a Multilingual Instructional Aide to assist multilingual students at Hinsdale South High School. The aide's primary role is to facilitate learning in both ML and general education classes, ensuring students can effectively access the curriculum and improve their English language skills. Ideal candidates will hold an ELS (PARA) license and possess skills in communication, problem-solving, and technology.
ELS (PARA) license
Ability to communicate in Spanish, Arabic or Ukrainian preferred
Basic technology skills to assist students required

Strong interpersonal skills

Status: Non Exempt - HTHSSSA
Position Summary:
The Multilingual paraprofessional’s primary responsibility is to provide assistance for identified ML students in areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking in ML and general education classes. This assistance is focused on helping multilingual students access the general education curriculum and improving the English language acquisition of students whose first language is not English.
Quailifications/Skills:
ELS (PARA) license
Ability to communicate in Spanish, Arabic or Ukrainian preferred
Basic technology skills to assist students required
Good verbal communication skills required
Ability to organize information and problem solve complex situations
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience with high school students preferred
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must be able to push and pull a student in a wheelchair and assist students with daily living activities. The employee must be able to climb stairs to enter a bus or to attend off-site field trips with students. The employee must be able to handle medical and PPE supplies including latex. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, such as to read type or hand written material. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet and indoors but can be loud on occasion as consistent with a large high school and sometimes will be outdoors for field trips or PE activities. The employee is continuously interacting with students and staff.
