Job summary

The Quest Organization, a growing Multifamily Real Estate Investment firm in the United States, is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to manage accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of large multifamily properties. The role emphasizes owning the month-end close and ensuring accurate financial statements.

Responsibilities include preparing monthly statements, performing reconciliations, reviewing property expenses, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of multifamily property accounting and general-ledger experience.
• Hands-on experience with the month-end close process.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting and property-level financial statements.
• Strong Excel, reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Entrata and/or Elise AI preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple properties, deadlines, and priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and complete month-end/year-end close.
• Perform bank and balance-sheet reconciliations and prepare journal entries.
• Review property income, expenses, accounts payable/receivable, tenant balances, and security deposits.
• Analyze actual results versus budget and explain variances.
• Maintain fixed assets and capital expenditure records.
• Prepare owner, lender, audit, tax, and supporting financial reports.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, acquisitions, dispositions, and accounting transitions.
• Partner with property managers and senior management on accounting and financial reporting matters.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, loan requirements, and ownership agreements.
