Job summary

NP MECHANICAL INC. in California is seeking a Plumber for the Multifamily Division to join our team. This position requires working in person, with a standard M-F schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; overtime may be required with supervisor approval.

You will install and maintain plumbing systems in multi-family buildings, read blueprints, collaborate with construction teams, inspect systems, ensure code compliance, mentor apprentices, and keep accurate records while responding to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Valid plumbing license and certification applicable to state regulations
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in multi-family residential plumbing
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and plumbing schematics
• Strong knowledge of local plumbing codes and standards
• Experience in installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems in multi-family units
• Ability to operate plumbing tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in varying conditions
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with teams and clients
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for job site visits
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety policies
• Ability to handle physical workload of 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain plumbing systems in multi-family residential buildings
• Read and interpret blueprints and building specifications for piping layouts
• Collaborate with construction teams to meet project timelines
• Conduct inspections and resolve leaks or clogs
• Install fixtures, appliances, and plumbing systems in kitchens and bathrooms
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal plumbing codes and safety standards
• Coordinate with project managers and other trades
• Provide guidance to apprentices and junior plumbers
• Maintain records of work performed, materials used, and time spent
• Respond to emergency plumbing calls promptly
• Use tools safely and keep equipment in good condition
• Participate in ongoing training and development
