Job summary

Thompson Thrift in Colorado Springs seeks a Maintenance Technician – Switch to support daily maintenance for a multifamily community. You’ll handle service requests, preventative maintenance, and general repairs under the Maintenance and Community Managers, contributing to safety, cleanliness, and resident satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in property maintenance, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift heavy objects. EPA/HVAC or CPO certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of property maintenance experience.
• Valid Driver’s license and reliable vehicle for on-call emergencies.
• Physical ability to lift 50–80 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests in a timely manner and prioritize urgent issues.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and carpentry.
• Perform preventative maintenance and support inspections.
• Assist with apartment make-readies and turnover readiness.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate updates to leadership.
• Keep work areas clean, organized and safe per policies.
• Follow safety guidelines, OSHA rules, and company policies.
• Coordinate with vendors and escalate as needed.
• Participate in emergency response and on-call rotations.
• Communicate professionally with residents and team members.
