Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Multifamily-Field Engineer in Washington state to support Project Manager and Superintendents on-site.

You will oversee subcontractors, inspect foundations, manage punch lists, and ensure safety and documentation compliance on busy multifamily projects. The role requires 1–2 years of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and proficiency with MS Office and basic construction software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One to two years of related experience and/or training.
• Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
• Good working knowledge of construction management theory and practice.
• PC proficient; knowledge of construction software including scheduling, estimating, spreadsheets, and word processing.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Exposure to outdoor conditions and construction site risks.

Responsibilities

• Review project construction documents for potential conflicts.
• Walk site to observe usage, safety, and deficiencies; report unsafe practices.
• Inspect foundations prior to concrete placement and verify dimensions.
• Organize and track office documents as directed by PM/Superintendent.
• Assist in creating and managing punch lists for trades.
• Check rough-trade work before City inspections.
• Verify material deliveries; maintain delivery log.
• Inspect trusses and coordinate repairs with manufacturer and structural engineer.
• Adhere to safety policies and produce daily progress reports.
• Ensure subcontractors complete daily reports and safety meeting minutes.
• Update construction documents with changes and addenda.
• Perform duties professionally to support company profitability and customer satisfaction.
• Willingness to work overtime and travel overnight.
