D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Multifamily-Field Engineer in Washington state to support Project Manager and Superintendents on-site.

You will oversee subcontractors, inspect foundations, manage punch lists, and ensure safety and documentation compliance on busy multifamily projects. The role requires 1–2 years of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and proficiency with MS Office and basic construction software.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
One to two years of related experience and/or training.
Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
Good working knowledge of construction management theory and practice.
PC proficient; knowledge of construction software including scheduling, estimating, spreadsheets, and word processing.
Proficiency with MS Office and email.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Exposure to outdoor conditions and construction site risks.

Responsibilities

Review project construction documents for potential conflicts.
Walk site to observe usage, safety, and deficiencies; report unsafe practices.
Inspect foundations prior to concrete placement and verify dimensions.
Organize and track office documents as directed by PM/Superintendent.
Assist in creating and managing punch lists for trades.
Check rough-trade work before City inspections.
Verify material deliveries; maintain delivery log.
Inspect trusses and coordinate repairs with manufacturer and structural engineer.
Adhere to safety policies and produce daily progress reports.
Ensure subcontractors complete daily reports and safety meeting minutes.
Update construction documents with changes and addenda.
Perform duties professionally to support company profitability and customer satisfaction.
Willingness to work overtime and travel overnight.

D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Multifamily-Field Engineer WA. The right candidate will assist the Project Manager and Superintendent(s) in managing the subcontractors and suppliers on a project site in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Review the project’s construction documents, looking for possible future problems and conflicts
Walk the site looking for usage practices, unauthorized personnel, product deficiencies, or improper construction methods and report all identified unsafe work practices to supervisor
Inspect all foundations prior to concrete placement, verifying dimensions, cleaning beam bottoms, checking cable chairs, verifying proper cable clearance and coverage, etc.
Develop, organize, and track office documents as directed by the Project Manager and/or Superintendent
Help create, distribute and manage punch list to all rough trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, phone, TV, fire and framing)
Check all rough trade’s work prior to inspection by City Officials
Check all material deliveries, ensuring quality and count. Maintain delivery log
Check all trusses for broken members and proper bracing. Order any truss repairs from manufacturer prior to inspection by structural engineer. Walk truss inspections with a structural engineer
Comply with company safety policies
Record work progress on daily reports by issuing subcontractor’s reports and observations
Ensure that all subcontractors accurately complete and submit their daily reports and weekly safety meeting minutes
Update and monitor all construction documents with changes and addenda
Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
Ability to work overtime
Ability to travel overnight

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED
One to two years of related experience and/or training
Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license
Must have good working knowledge of construction management theory and practice
Must have PC proficient and have a good knowledge of construction business software, including scheduling, estimating, spreadsheets, and word processing
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
Proficiency with MS Office and email
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Regular exposure to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, and risk of electrical shock

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction or related field preferred
Experience in multi-family construction preferred
Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
