Serta Simmons Bedding is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support a fast-paced manufacturing operation in Houston. You will diagnose, repair, and optimize mechanical, electrical, PLC, robotics, and pneumatic systems, leading junior mechanics and driving preventive maintenance.
You will mentor teammates, conduct Kaizens, and uphold OSHA safety standards while collaborating with engineers and supervisors to reduce downtime and boost uptime across critical assets.
Shape the future of sleep—one perfectly running machine at a time. At Serta Simmons Bedding (home to Serta, Beautyrest, Simmons, and Tuft & Needle), you’ll join a 220-year legacy of sleep innovation. Step into a high-impact role where your expertise keeps our fast-paced manufacturing operation humming—and our customers sleeping soundly.
You start by reviewing CMMS work orders and planning preventive maintenance that keeps critical assets reliable. A production line flags an intermittent fault—your diagnostic tools and deep knowledge of mechanical systems, PLC logic, robotics, pneumatics, and industrial electrical help you isolate the root cause fast. You collaborate with the Production Manager, Supervisors, Quality Technicians, and Engineers to time repairs, then document the fix and recommend an upgrade that reduces future downtime. In the afternoon, you mentor junior mechanics, lead a quick Kaizen, and reinforce OSHA safety protocols—because a safety-first culture is non‑negotiable here.
