Job summary

Serta Simmons Bedding, LLC is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician to support the Charlotte, NC production line. You will assist in repairing and maintaining production equipment under guidance, perform routine preventative tasks, and help with troubleshooting while following OSHA safety standards.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, basic tools experience, and a willingness to learn. This on-site role offers growth through on-the-job and formal training programs.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of maintenance or technical experience.
• High School diploma or GED required; technical certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in repair and maintenance of production equipment (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic).
• Perform routine preventative maintenance such as lubrication, cleaning, and parts replacement.
• Use basic troubleshooting tools to identify simple mechanical issues and escalate complex problems.
• Follow safety protocols and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
• Document maintenance activities and support reporting on equipment condition.

What You’ll Do:

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance & Repair:

Assist in the repair and maintenance of production equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, under the guidance of more experienced team members.

Preventative Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating machinery, cleaning equipment, and replacing minor parts as directed.

Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:

Use basic troubleshooting skills and diagnostic tools to identify and address simple mechanical issues, escalating more complex problems to senior mechanics.

Safety & Compliance:

Follow all safety protocols and operating procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety standards.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and assist in preparing reports to track equipment condition and repairs performed.

Learning & Development:

Continuously develop technical skills through on-the-job training and formal training programs. Seek guidance from senior mechanics to enhance knowledge and performance.

What You’ll Bring:

Experience:

• 0-2 years of experience in a maintenance or technical role.


• Experience with basic hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment.

Education:

• High School diploma or GED required.


• Technical certifications or training in mechanical, electrical, or related fields is a plus.

Skills:

• Basic mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn more advanced systems and troubleshooting techniques.


• Basic understanding of computers and iPad software programs


• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
