Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. in Hastings, Michigan, is seeking skilled Machine Repair Technicians to join a growing global manufacturing operation.

You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on a wide range of industrial equipment, with emphasis on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and basic PLC troubleshooting. You will diagnose failures, read schematics, support safety programs, and contribute to continuous-improvement projects while working across maintenance,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; apprenticeship preferred.
• Recognized apprenticeship in machine repair or industrial maintenance strongly preferred.
• Experience with multicraft maintenance across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems is essential.
• Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and basic automation faults is advantageous.
• Experience reading mechanical/electrical schematics and technical drawings is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery and automated equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and automation-related failures.
• Troubleshoot low- and high-voltage electrical systems, including motors, sensors, relays, and control panels.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
• Assist with equipment upgrades, retrofits, and continuous-improvement projects.
• Document maintenance activities and communicate downtime or reliability concerns to leadership.
