Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Corporate Communications Specialist to craft clear, engaging content for internal audiences and external stakeholders across multiple channels. You will collaborate with leaders, manage projects and ensure consistent messaging.

The ideal candidate writes compelling copy, supports campaigns, and helps track effectiveness while navigating a fast-paced manufacturing environment at our Cary, NC-based operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of communications experience, ideally in corporate communications, public relations or employee communications.
• Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience communicating with employees in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with media relations.
• Natural curiosity with a strong drive to identify solutions to challenges and problems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, digital communications tools and emerging AI technologies to enhance productivity, support content development and improve communication effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Create content for employee-facing channels, including email, intranet, digital signage, videos and leadership communications.
• Support communications related to organizational changes, business initiatives, employee programs and company events.
• Collaborate with business leaders and subject matter experts to develop effective messaging.
• Support town halls, employee meetings and engagement initiatives by creating presentations, developing supporting communications materials, analyzing survey results and preparing post-meeting summaries.
• Maintain and update content calendars.
• Draft press releases, media statements, fact sheets and external announcements.
• Support media relations efforts and help coordinate responses to media inquiries.
• Support communications related to awards, community engagement, sustainability, thought leadership and company milestones.
• Monitor media coverage and industry trends and provide summaries as needed.
• Write, edit and proofread content for a variety of audiences and channels.
• Translate information into clear, concise and engaging messages.
• Ensure consistency of voice, tone and messaging across all communications.
• Help maintain editorial calendars and communications plans.
