The Department of Developmental Services in Meriden, CT is seeking a General Trades Worker to maintain and repair facilities across the South Region. You will apply skilled trades, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVACR, to ensure safe and compliant living and work spaces.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in trades, with 2+ years in a skilled capacity. The role requires varied duties, on‑site work, and occasional snow removal and equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience in one or more trade areas.
• Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been performing skilled trade functions.
• Possible substitutions allowed with vocational diploma or approved apprenticeship hours.

Responsabilités

• Perform highly skilled maintenance and construction work across multiple trade areas.
• Estimate time, personnel, and material for tasks and keep records.
• Operate and maintain equipment; respond to emergency or on‑call needs as required.
• Follow codes and standard trade practices across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVACR, painting, etc.
