Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years K-8 math and/or literacy teaching experience.
  • Minimum 2 years school leadership experience with data and instructional coaching responsibilities.
  • Project management experience or skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus but not required.

Position Overview

The Multi-Tiered Systems of Support & Intervention Manager is responsible for day-to-day implementation, performance management, and workflow reliability, while coaching direct reports and collaborating cross-functionally to adapt plans based on data and emerging needs.

The Multi-Tiered System of Supports Manager plans, implements, and evaluates MTSS intervention throughout a network of K-8 schools, ensuring all scholars are able to access rigorous instruction. The MTSS Manager leads schools to build intervention continuums and ensures fidelity of implementation.

The role collaborates primarily with the Schools Team to develop systems for implementing and monitoring literacy, math, and behavioral/social-emotional interventions, and develops and leads network wide professional development for teachers and leaders.

The MTSS Manager provides coaching support and strategy development to school leaders who need additional assistance accelerating student learning. This position sits on the Student Success Team team, and reports to the Managing Director of Student Success.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develops a deep understanding of the MTSS model to ensure quality and mission-aligned execution
  • Designs division-wide monitoring and documentation systems of intervention, ensuring increased student achievement and on-going compliance with federal, state, and network policies.
  • Leads the implementation of research based tier 2 and tier 3 intervention curriculum across all campuses.
  • Collects and presents student outcome data to network leadership and campus partners regularly; consistently evaluates and suggests improvements to better meet student needs.
  • Develops evaluation instruments and uses data generated to guide program improvement and to monitor student progress.
  • Observes interventions across K-8 classrooms and provides consistent feedback based on a predetermined set of expectations
  • Collaborates closely with the Student Services Team and Schools Management Teams to improve and expand academic and behavioral intervention programs and instructional practices
  • Collaborates with Schools Team to ensure alignment of intervention and ed tech software with network curriculum and indicators of instructional excellence
  • Plans and facilitates professional development for leader and teacher groups across all schools based on instructional needs.
  • With campus and network leaders, determines campus-specific programming; conducts regular check-ins and step backs to reflect and monitor progress and data.
  • Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • An advanced degree is a plus. Master's degree from an accredited educational institution (preferably in primary literacy or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years successful K-8 math and/or literacy teaching experience is required
  • Adult leadership experience preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years school leadership experience with corresponding student achievement data and instructional coaching responsibilities
  • Project management experience and/or skills
  • Demonstrated interest and/or experience educating at-risk learners
  • Proven track record of leading, managing, and coaching other leaders and educators
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly build productive and meaningful relationships with multiple stakeholders including school and network based staff, families and community members
  • Proven ability to effectively support, collaborate and partner with a variety of personalities and working styles and an openness and generosity of spirit in navigating differences
  • Project management expertise and the ability to drive efficiency and excellence in all aspects of work alongside and/or through others
  • Joyful, self-starter with the ability to prioritize competing goals, exhibit flexibility, grace and sound judgment along with productive urgency in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a keen attention to detail
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus but not required
  • Large group training and facilitation experience
  • School or Network Leadership experience
  • Ability to travel approximately 10-20% of the time, primarily within the US
