Job summary

The City of Eufaula Alabama is seeking a dedicated facilities maintenance worker to perform a variety of building and infrastructure upkeep tasks. The role includes electrical, HVAC, plumbing maintenance and repairs across city facilities, along with airport buildings and related systems.

Responsibilities also cover street and traffic light maintenance, recycling equipment upkeep, fuel system operations, safety inspections, furniture moves, and general building maintenance duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of modern construction methods, practices, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Knowledge of building maintenance principles and practices.
• Knowledge of fuel system management principles.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building system maintenance principles.
• Skill in interpersonal communication.
• Skill in performing building maintenance and repair functions.
• Skill in the use of hand and power tools.
• Skill in verbal and written communication.
• Skill in estimating quantity of materials accurately.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs city facilities; performs electrical, HVAC, plumbing maintenance and repair.
• Maintains airport buildings and facilities; maintains airport lighting; mows grass; replaces circuit boards.
• Maintains and repairs city street and traffic lights.
• Maintains and repairs recycling equipment.
• Maintains and repairs fuel system equipment; prepares monthly fuel reports; issues gas keys; replaces hoses and breakaway nozzles; oversees environmental tests and reports.
• Maintains and repairs city green houses.
• Inspects and maintains fire and life safety systems.
• Constructs and moves furniture in city buildings.
• Assists with building inspections as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
