Job summary

LifeSkills Connection Inc. is seeking a Payroll and Tax Compliance Specialist to manage multi-state payroll processing and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws across all contracts and subsidiaries.

The role maintains payroll records, handles tax deposits and filings with Paycor, supports audits, and protects confidential employee information while partnering with Finance and HR on process improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Three or more years of multi-state payroll processing and payroll tax compliance experience.
• Experience with government contracting and SCA/prevailing wage a plus.
• Experience with payroll and HRMS/HRIS systems (Paycor experience a plus); familiarity with QuickBooks Online strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
• CPP or FPC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing: process multi-state payroll through Paycor on schedule for all entities.
• Audit timekeeping and reconcile data; handle wage garnishments and special payments.
• Payroll Tax Compliance: monitor federal/state/local tax laws and prepare filings.
• Review payroll tax deposits and tax returns for accuracy and timeliness.
• Compliance & Recordkeeping: maintain confidential payroll records and wage determinations.
• Reporting & Reconciliation: produce payroll and tax reports; reconcile GL accounts in QBO.
• Employee Support: respond to payroll inquiries and assist with benefits/deductions.
• Collaboration: partner with HR and Finance on new-hire setup and leave administration.
