FNF Construction, Inc., a MasTec CE&I company, is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Tempe, AZ. This role processes weekly payroll for field construction personnel across multiple states, ensuring accuracy, compliance with wage laws, and timely reporting in a high-volume environment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of payroll experience, certification in payroll administration, and is onsite at corporate offices in Tempe. Flexible scheduling and strong confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Certification in Payroll Administration (e.g., FPC) or willingness to study and obtain certification.
• Some college coursework to include HR and/or accounting would be helpful.
• Must be flexible with weekly work schedule, as business needs dictate overtime (main payroll process, holiday weeks, ERP rollout in 2027).

Responsibilities

• Fast and accurate timecard data entry and proofing against approved craft/classifications for prevailing wage projects.
• Produces, distributes, and tracks payroll-related reporting to projects and supervisors.
• Assists in dissemination and tracking of paystubs via overnight shipping or USPS.
• Enters employee payroll changes weekly: pay rates, taxes, deductions, and direct deposit data; ensures 100% accuracy.
• Organizes and maintains all payroll files/timecards weekly; scans forms and attaches to digital personnel files.
• Acts as primary payroll department contact, providing excellent customer service to employees and supervisors; researches and resolves issues.
• Communicates with outside agencies for employment verifications or payroll data for audits.
• Provides backup for other payroll staff and covers front desk lunch break one day a week.
• Ensures EAD forms are generated and tracked post-payroll for CPR with ADOT.
• Assists directors with special projects as needed.
