Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a Harvest Floor Operator for a multi-species processing site in Mansfield, OH. The role involves processing beef, pork, lamb, and goat on a fast-paced floor with a 1st shift schedule Monday–Friday.

The position offers $20-$30/hour based on experience and is designed for candidates who can hit the ground running. The job requires standing for long periods, lifting, and working in hot, cold, and damp conditions, with an emphasis on humane handling and adherence to HACCP

Qualifications

• Harvest floor, slaughter, or meat processing experience preferred.
• Willing to learn if direct harvest experience is not present.
• Physically capable of standing, heavy lifting, and working in hot, cold, and damp conditions.
• Knife skills or clear interest in developing them on the job.
• Agricultural or livestock handling background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform all phases of the harvest process including stunning, bleeding, skinning, eviscerating, splitting, and trimming.
• Handle livestock humanely and in accordance with all animal welfare requirements.
• Trim, wash, and weigh carcasses to meet quality and compliance standards.
• Maintain knife sharpness and keep harvest floor equipment in proper working condition.
• Keep workstations, walls, equipment, and the harvest floor clean and sanitized at all times.
• Follow all HACCP protocols and food safety requirements without exception.
• Support barn duties including weighing, feeding, and watering livestock as skills develop.
• Assist with general sanitation and end-of-shift cleanup procedures.
