Job summary

CommUnityCare's Multi-Specialty Clinic seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care across diverse specialties. You will work under licensed personnel, perform a range of clinical duties, and help coordinate care to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include pre-visit planning, vital signs, basic testing, patient education, and accurate documentation. A proactive team player with strong communication is essential to our patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; MA diploma or CMA certification preferable.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant externship.
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• Epic experience preferred in ambulatory clinics.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the patient’s care team including primary care, specialists, home care, and hospital teams to optimize outcomes.
• Interacts with staff, patients, and providers to coordinate patient care and workflow.
• Performs pre-visit planning with review of prior notes and ensures documentation of results (labs, tests, notes).
• Uses AIDET during patient interactions to enhance experience.
• Rooms patients per standardized workflow and documents demographics, vital signs, and medical history.
• Performs duties such as EKG, spirometry, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, wound care, and other procedures as trained.
• Administers medications and immunizations per Standing Delegation Orders; sets up exam/procedure rooms; prepares patients for visits.
• Dismisses patients, completes orders and education, schedules follow-ups and reviews the plan.
• Manages MyChart messages, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling for clinic and hospital services.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and professional communication within the care team.
• Develops positive internal relationships and participates in daily huddles and quality improvement.
• Attends staff meetings and educational offerings; supports a positive workplace culture.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
